They tended to be a bit more common in my Karameikos BECMI campaign than when running 5e Wilderlands, Wilderlands tends towards swords & sorcery tropes which is more alien abomination type critters rather than mythical beasts, and for Karameikos my son specifically wanted to play a dragonrider fighting other dragons. Before the days of MMORPGs like Fortnite, before even the World Wide Web, there was Dungeons & Dragons, popularly known as D&D or DnD for short. For these reasons, vitamin D has been linked to heart health and risk of CVD. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with vascular dysfunction, arterial stiffening, left ventricular hypertrophy, and hyperlipidemia. But I don't go out of my way to include them either. Vitamin D helps regulate the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (and thereby blood pressure), vascular cell growth, and inflammatory and fibrotic pathways.
